HEALTHY, WEALTHY & WISE WEDNESDAYS

So you’re thinking about reinventing an aspect of your life. Do you know what steps to take? Greg Davis Morning Show’s life coach contributor Kim Bettie is here to give you some things to think about that will help get you started.

It makes sense that after years of corporate restructuring people would start to feel the need to restructure or reinvent their lives. Creating a reinvention strategy can be a fairly painless process, and is necessary during today’s tough economic times. No matter what area of life you want to reinvent – your career, relationship, health or home – it shouldn’t be stressful; it should be inspiring.

First, you’ll want to think positively and productively. You can think positively about your chances for a successful reinvention by imagining yourself attaining your goal. What will success look like? Now, think productively or realistically about what it will take to get there and reflect on the obstacles that stand in the way? Doing both turns wishes and daydreams into reality by bringing to focus what you will need to do to make it happen.

Next, think on purpose and with passion. Ask yourself “why” you are interested in reinventing yourself in this particular area of life and who will benefit. Acknowledging your higher purpose will
keep you motivated during tough times and helps get others involved.

Once you have established your purpose, make a plan. Make a list of lifestyle changes you will need to make. Pick one thing from your list and create an “easy to implement” plan. Your reinvention goal can be challenging, but your plan should be simple. Incorporate your action plan into everyday life and begin living your vision.
